Easy one this… any English words you happen to hear in a J-Pop ditty (a genre to which I’ve become shamelessly addicted), probably doesn’t have anything to do with the actual song. It might not even make sense. Actually, chances are pretty good it won’t make sense.
Nope, any English (or more bizarrely, French) words you hear in J-Pop are there for one reason only: They sound ‘cool’.
Which is why you end up with song lyrics that go something like:
“ あとでわかるよ 全ての意味が 今はわからなくても
苦しみも幸せも秘密も だから なげないで抱きしめていこう ずっと
It’s My Lifeだから”
