Lalala-lala… wait… WHAT??!!

I’m putting my head on the block here and confessing that I’m a shameless JPop fan. I’m not sure if it’s the music, the lyrics (99% of which I have no clue, but that doesn’t seem to stop me warbling along to them in the car), or their association with various anime shows. I’m guessing the latter.

Aya

However, occasionally, they throw out wonderfully bizarre English lyrics, such as Hirano Aya in the ED for Daughter of 20 Faces, which concludes out of the blue with “Naked half… there’s a shiny way…”.

“…”

No, I have no idea either, except that seeing as she’s also Suzumiya Haruhi’s seiyū, it does conjure up some *ahem* interesting Haruhi-based mental images. Time for me to visit my shrink again, methinks.

However, top of the list at the moment, has to be Puffy’s “All Because of You,” with its wonderful, foot-tapping chorus:

“It’s all because of you…
I just run into walls
Since you bought all my shoes…”

Puffy

Puffy… shoeless…

Well, that’s what it sounds like… although my evil alter-ego insists the last line is “Since you barfed on my shoes,” but it couldn’t be… could it?

Anyway, excuse me while I kiss this guy…

Yes, Jpop songs tend to include confusing or bizarre English lyrics. I prefer Yoko Kanno’s work. No mistakes there. Honestly, they shouldn’t use English lyrics at all.

You right sphinx, adding English word in the lyric sometimes not good. because I can’t tell the meaning even in English :(
